Sales update

If you are wondering about sales numbers, I was just assigned contract #672 late last week for June, 2002 delivery.

My trusty Archer will never forgive me!

and I was just assigned #668 a week before that! I wonder if 4-5 sales per week is typical for cirrus? that would imply something like 250 sales per year… not bad…

My contract number is 591 which I received end of february. 672-591=81 If you take 22 working day in a month that makes 22 for march, 22 for april, 22 for may and about 15 for june. Add this all up and you get 81. Cirrus has been selling an average of 1 aircraft per working day for quite some time now and despite the 2 years’ wait they are not experiencing any noticeable slowdown, imho.

Wait until they add more products to their offerings, i.e. SR22 and whatever will follow after that and they manage to reduce the waiting period to a few months, then I think they could be selling in the neighbourhood of 1000 airplanes per year.

BTW, back in february I also signed for an option for the SR22 which bore #42, I’d be surprised if they haven’t surpassed #60 by now, and remember there is not much info out on this plane. As soon as this aircraft will be presented to the public I think the pace of new contract sales will increase considerably.

All the above is just my opinion.

Bruce Gunther told me the other day that there is no reason to get on the list for an SR22 also, unless you want BOTH planes. He indicated if you are still on the list for an SR20 when the appropriate time comes, you will be given the opportunity to convert it to an SR22. Position numbers from the SR20 list and the SR22 list will be blended based on the date of the original contract.
