Overload SR22

Nobody in their right mind would suggest violating the POH or a reg in writing, especially in a semi-public place with their real name.

I totally disagree!

Sometimes I wonder why the GA safety record is so bad.

Then the internet reminds me.

PINC=Procedural Intentional Non Compliance.

Translational from the 121 World- intentionally doing something that is not complying with the rules, regulations, POH or other governing documents.

If you do something that is PINC the FAA will take more punitive action and less corrective action.

Not to pile on but your post suggests to me that you need to find another mode of transport, ASAP. The fact that you’d fly with your family with this mindset is pretty disturbing.

Bending the rules has no place in GA.

Very true. GA has such a bad reputation. But I’ve always felt if you just take out the dumb mistakes - overloading, running out of fuel, flying into stupid weather — suddenly the safety record looks far more respectable.

Get a Cessna 185, mine has a 1,725 lb useful load, SR20 speeds. Though it is probably not safer

The risks in general aviation are real. They should not be taken lightly. And even if the probability of occurrence is only 0.1% but the consequence is death, the risk is unacceptably high. That is why we do our best to manage what we can manage and prepare for what we cannot foresee. Overload is preventable. Avoid it. Even if the risk is marginal. Many other demons will come to meet you.

Welcome to COPA.

… and if you add proactive education + reasonable personal minimums, you have a formula that might beat the odds of cancer.

I am thinking our ā€œguestā€ has left the building. Further suspect, we will not have a new member…

And some even cost more now! I saw one for an 800 number recently, although it was on floats. If there was ever a plane I wish Cessna would bring back…

Ouch. Hot section material right there

This is definitely a ā€œScared Straightā€ type of video that make you never wanna take a chance on overweight or hot/high :open_mouth:

Wrong. You can publicly participate in derogatory religious conversations here. No Foul. Just don’t talk politics

Yep, what a world we live in.

…Yeah, I think our new friend actually joining is becoming less and less likely.

But generally speaking, this is a still a really terrific aviation community.

I wish you did

I beg to differ, at least not on my watch, any derogatory comments levied against a Member or their faith and/or beliefs are unwelcome on the COPA forums.

Thank you

Unfortunately I’m a little aggravated that a large portion of this thread, subjectively, seems to fall under #1 above, and cost us at least one potential new member…

I don’t know…
Really? Is it abuse or is it offensive to tell someone that it is wrong to overload his plane with his family? Asking the entire forum membership to see if anyone would give him a blessing to do so? And potentially go off to kill them all?
I don’t think so.
