Ladies and gentlemen I made an inquiry
with RMS Technology to see if they had
the SR20 in there flightplanning software
database. They need the following information:
-
Aircraft name
-
Aircraft power type
-
Climb/Descent (rate?)
-
At least three different cruise
percentages.
-
Four TAS for each cruise percentage.
-
Four different altitudes
-
Fuel burn
-
Weight & Balance envelope
-
Payload moment arm chart
-
Max takeoff, ramp, and landing fuel wt.
-
Empty weight and CG
-
Number of engines (this ones easy)
-
Takeoff distances
This information will be built into the
next Flightsoft Update if we can get them the info.
Send to: RMS Technology, INC.

I don’t have my plane or a POH yet so maybe
one of you kind folks that have been collecting
data could pass it along to these guys.
Thanks in advance - Bob

Bob,
The gross weight increase for the Cirrus SR 20 is going to change the numbers somewhat. Hopefully, the certification is forthcoming.
Bob:
Hopefully the same data could be included for the SR22. Great work!

Normally, I like to keep on a positive note and in that vein I am glad to see that RMS is interested in SR20/22 data; however, I would strongly advise anybody that is interested in flight planning software to consider evaluating RMS software with Destination Direct or Jeppesen’s FlightStar (not sure that is the name). RMS does NOT rank well compared to other products based on AOPA and Aviation consumer. Maybe RMS is changing their stripes, but be careful.
Walt:
Thanks for the heads up. I actually thought RMS had a simulation program, not flight planning. I plan to use the Jeppesen product for flight planning. It is either Flight Star or
Flight Map, depending on whether you want the ability to show real time map data on your laptop.
Plus, Flight Map will also work in your rental car to keep you from getting lost on the ground. You do have to buy the ground data, however. Jeppesen is good, not cheap.
