Deliveries (plus wheel pants)

My SR22 delivery was Mon. 7/16/01. (Serial No. 56, N2ZH) I think I was originally contract 262.

I left Duluth with no wheel pants since one was cracked a little on the top rear. Since each are custom fitted to the plane it had to be repaired. I was number 4 in line for pants repair and it is to be shipped to me on Wed. 7/25/01. Be aware, no wheel pants costs at least 15kts of airspeed.

For the record, I am based at HIO (Hillsboro Oregon, just outside of Portland) and suspect the closest Cirrus owner is in the Seattle area. I wouldn’t mind hearing from anyone so we can stay in touch, etc.

PS I still have a 1998 C-182 (IFR) with only 180 hours to sell. Made a great “temporary” plane for me the last two years as I waited for the SR22.

I was told that the pants are required for airworthiness, at least on the SR20.

Andy, Not sure about the SR20, but they are not required for the 22.

Hi Andy,

Pants (or a skirt) may be required for the pilot of an SR20, but not for the landing gear. Page 2-13 of the SR20 POH says that the wheel pants may be removed.

Cheers,
