A fantasy of mine...

Inspired by the question “will there be a market for one plane a day?”

I have a dream. In the dream, I’ve saved up the $$, learned to fly, and having done my research, decided that Cirrus was the plane for me.

And this is the part where I know it is a dream. I pick up the phone and place an order and they say the delivery time will be…

One week.

Or sometimes in the dream they say "there’s a new one that’s just been delivered over to PICKANAME AVIATION DEALER for sale, along with a bunch on new 182’s…

Of course, then I wake up.

So if you are wondering will they sell a plane a day? I say that if the wait time for the plane was one month there would be another 500 orders placed before you could wake up.

Your conclusion is interesting. There certainly comes a point in time when the certainty of early delivery is another desirable attribute, one which would compell a ready able and willing licensed pilot to order the safest, simplest and fastest product in its price range rather than another copy of 30 to 50 year old technology costing more.
