Too bad you have to be a suscriber. Hmmm, maybe our friend Mr. Fallows knows a way to get around

the problem.

Don: Only subscribers can view the article and at $12.95 per article, it’s way too expensive. $1.95 would be much more in line.

Question: Since you obviously subscribe, do you feel it’s worth $72 a year?

P.S. As much as I’d like to read the article, I respect their right to charge for it. So, I hope no one else copies it for non-subscribers to read!

Since nobody wants to push for a free copy; can you provide the board with a ‘book review’ of the article? Highs, Lows, Pros, Cons?

We all have our opinions, but its interesting to read what people who ‘talk’ to the unwashed masses have to say.

Sorry, but I’ve removed this article since it is reproducing a copyrighted work without permission.

FWIW, it basically says it’s a heck of a good plane, especially since you can buy it now (or at least soon) unlike the Columbia 300. It notes that a more user-friendly engine, anti-ice and some avionics tweaks would make it even better. Mooney and Piper are warned to watch out.

Their big beefs:

  1. no DE-ICINg!

  2. not happy with the iscd 2000

  3. alternators ‘gear’ driven vs. belt

  4. only EGT gauge vs. engine monitoring but point out it is now available via the ARNAV.

I can not give an opinion to those wondering if the $72 bucks / year is a good deal…This was my 1st issue!

I agree the rag is too expensive at $72 for a black and white that is mostly subjective. Where’s the science in the article on the SR22? Telling us his opinion to run leak of peak on the SR22? How many experts would differ on this? Does a ride in an airplane make you the expert?

Their review of the SR20 a year or so back was very positive, comparing the SR20’s handling to the Bonanza and calling it “perhaps the most crashworthy airplane ever made.” I would be surprised if they felt differently about the SR22.
