SR20 Seat Colors/SR22

It may just be me, but I think that the single color leather seats in the SR22 look far better than the two color in the SR20. Moreover, I think that the more contemporary look of the 20 will look dated as time goes on. (I’m sure that in 1972, the Cessna interiors were very “with it.”)

Any idea if the SR22 seats can be put into the SR20? Are they different, other than color? If others have this feeling, maybe CD will listen.

I thought the seats in the sr20 were cheap looking in the pictures I had seen. I got a demo flight and was very pleasantly surprised at how nice they look. I however would probably opt for a single color seat, if given a choice for the reasons you suggest.

I would love to opt for the fabric with leather trim in my SR20. In cold climates like I live in in upstate NY, fabric is a much better choice. I opted for wool trimmed with leather in my Commander and it is soo comfortable in all seasons.

Cirrus called on Friday and asked to select my options. My delivery position has been moved up to Feb 15 for #170. Went with the feather beige leather.

Let’s convince them!

David,

Interesting - I’ve been given Feb 15th, too - for #156 - will probably meet you in Duluth.

Of course, it could be that virtually all between mine and yours have upgraded to the SR22. Alison did say that there was a pretty good chance that mine would be ready earlier - just not sure exactly how much earlier, yet. Anyone else out there with a similar delivery date?

You may remember my previous posts as #668 (June 2002 delivery) – since then I’ve grown impatient and purchased position #152. Alison said the same to me: official delivery date Feb 15 but unofficially it could be ready as soon as Jan 15th – most probably sometime between those two dates. So it looks like I’ll also be shivering up in Duluth with you guys this winter.

I forgot to ask her how soon we will know for sure the absolute specific delivery date; did you happen to ask?

Thanks

Steve

Steve,

I did ask; they really can’t tell yet, because people are still doing the SR20 → SR22 thing, and because fuselages are now coming from Grand Forks, and they aren’t yet certain of the flow rate, scrap %, etc. I guess they really want to remain conservative. Alison did say that she would advise a minimum of 30 days prior to delivery - better if they know - because we’d need at least that amount of time to square away insurance, etc.

I’m planning for worst case - chasing hangar space as if the date is mid-January, and dreaming as though the date is mid-February. Flexibility on our part seems to be the name of the game at this point; I’m certainly not complaining.
