Hi Mike

Do you know if Anderson would make us all a deal? The last time I checked most custom model companys want between $150-200 a model. If we put in an order of say 1000, do you think we could all get a break on the cost? Assuming there are a few Cirrus people interested. May be we could talk the Cirrus people into giving each person with a deposit one.

For those who are looking to obtain a hand carved, hand painted model of YOUR airplane, N#, paint scheme, the works, contact Mike at Pacific Aircraft (800) 950-9944, pac@warplanes.com, www.warplanes.com

The normal cost of a custom model is $299.95, plus $10 shipping. Mention this post/website and I will give you a 20% discount making them just 239.95, plus $10 shipping (USA).

Delivery time is approximately 4 months and a completed custom order form and pictures are required to get started.

We have been in the business for over 14 years and have about 40,000 satisfied customers.

FYI Anderson’s are quoting a 5-6 month(!!!) delivery period on a Cirrus model

Jim,
Good questions. Their standard pricing would seem to be $264 ($45 additional for wheels down, which I guess applies to us!); so any negotiation is likely to start from about $310.
1,000 units is a big number. I think that we’d be lucky to find homes for 100 initially. Why not ask them for prices at various volumes?
As for talking Cirrus into giving anything away, I’m not sure that’s feasible. I’ve been on the other side of that fence (well, not that particular fence, but you know what I mean); and talk of how to SAVE $200 at a time has an eager audience, but it’s tough to go into a meeting with a suggestion on how to spend extra money… especially when you already have an impressive backlog!
