I have just returned to Austin, Texas with our new baby Cirri, Serial # 1095 and tail number N255DD. The plane is magnificent and certainly worth the wait. It receives lots of attention on the ramp and we already have 50 hours on the plane in three weeks. It was a pleasure to fly back from Duluth to Texas. The GPS and the STec 50 greatly simplify flying. The biggest problem is remembering to look out the window with all the neat gadgets.
I (we) cannot say enough for the folks at Cirrus in Duluth. They made us feel like one of the family and obviously take great pride in their product and what they have accomplished. Dispite the extreme cold in Duluth (-20 F), the weather was clear and allowed us to finish the training rapidly. I would certainly encourage new owners picking up their planes to go to Duluth, meet the employees, and tour the factory. Additionally, it allows one to discover any small bugs (which there were very few) and resolve them with the factory. Once again, thanks for a great product, and the warm “Minne-soooota” welcome.

Dennis: As one who will pick up serial #1120 in about 6 weeks, I’m interested in what “bugs” you discovered and resolved while at the factory. Can you give me a rundown on the findings and the time it took for each solution-- it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. aa

Dennis, I am #68 and based at Addison Airport in far north Dallas. Please send me your email address and let me know where you keep #95. I get to Austin from time to time and in any case would like to begin a list of the Cirrus based in Texas. My address is dpowell@nstar.org.
