I agree that some form of corporate or “family” membership provision is needed. My partners and I formed an LLC and would like to join COPA as a group. We don’t even mind paying a little extra, certainly not the $50 each but something inbetween would be appropriate. There’s no provisions on the COPA online application for such groups. I have been submitting some ideas but haven’t heard anything yet.
This could be a great organization on the level of Cessna, Bonanza, Mooney associations.

Sorry Chris, I have to disagree with the closing statement. COPA is a great organization and getting better. I’m not aware of any provision of those other organizations you mention that allows a “corporate membership.” I think COPA is in line, especially since they have no advertisement space sold or any other means of “outside” support other than membership. The Mooney Owners of America publication is full of advertisements, pretty much worthless, even the published articles are sonetimes suspect as to the marketing content for Coy Jacobs. The Mooney Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association does a much better job, but COPA will come along and mature as the organization grows. The information on this site is worth the $50. It will only get better. The relationships with fellow Cirrus enthusiatists are awesome and this group, COPA, only builds and grows those relationships.

Hi Chris, (a lot of Chris’ out there). How do you think Cessna, Mooney, and Bonanza organizations keep their dues low? Advertisments and corporate involvement. You said it yourself. I don’t disagree with the dues as such just that we’d like to register as an LLC. If it costs a "corporate rate so be it. Sooner or later I suspect some advertising will show up on COPA in order to keep dues reasonable and increase services for the members. AOPA is a fine example of an organization that has managed to balance it all.
