I ordered a factory new 550 in Oct, paid full price and my A&P was told 6 to 8 weeks, Continental’s great customer service will not even answer damn phone but after several emails now told 14 to 16 weeks. No excuse for not being in touch just poor service. So I wait
I did an Sr22 overhaul. Engine dropped off on July 20 and was ready to pick up last Wednesday. So, 22 weeks and was originally told about 15 weeks.
I ordered a Continental Titan 340 for my Rans S21 build last December and at the time was told July-August. Still waiting and told maybe January or February.
Just to update what is still going on. I ordered a Factory new IO 360 ES16 B in January of 2025. Was told it would be 14-16 weeks. Then I was told the engine was completed April 18th, then no May 1st. Then was tested and failed with no new test date. Then tested again and passed then in quality control. Then it would be shipped within 2 weeks and still no firm shipping date. I am in US and bought through Air Power. The problem is anyone you can contact at either Air Power or Continental does not have any firsthand knowledge and must contact someone else for answers. When they send you a response there is no indication on the actual status but only a vague statement about a potential next step with no explanation for the delay. I guess I should be thankful that I have not reached the 6 month mark yet but getting close. At this stage I believe Continental should be able to provide some date that I would be able to plan on. Up to now they have not been willing to come up with that
This company is simply awful. And if I wouldn’t need it one day I’d hope they go out of business.
