I don’t think cirrus has a real clue what to tell you.Right now it’s about 3 planes a week. That’s rushing it.When one is on assembly line(or major parts) and a repair is needed one or two planes can jump ahead. It’s in the mid 150’s now. The one with repairs must catch up.Did that make sense?Repairs can take a couple days or longer depending how long the engineers scratch their overpaid heads.Repairs are due to screw ups due to over worked and an under-employeed(staffed) company.Oh, and lack of real training. jeff.

I thought they where at a 115 just a

already? Maybe mine (259) WILL make it
by July.Any Guesses??

Interesting View! I have worked in industry from filling cans with soup to hydro testing rocket engines for years and ramping up to production requirements is always a challenge. Cirrus is no exception. However, when you compare Cirrus to all other new aircraft manufactures, they are ahead of the pack right now. If Cirrus, Garmin, S-Tec and even RNAV and all of their employees did not put out the effort that they have, then we would not have the opportunity to buy a modern aircraft. Instead, we would have to purchase airplanes that were designed 30 years ago. I would rather wait and have a modern, reliable and safe airplane.

Actually, their dates for the SR22, once the reassement for this last few month slow-down is finished, seem quite consistent. See below thread for details.

Hey Jeff,
If it’s any consolation, I’ve been involved with a bunch of manufacturing companies, and, for whatever reason, it’s always the same. The answers look obvious, but, the costs of the business, and the realities of the labor market all conspire to cause just what you describe. There just aren’t enough experienced people out there to hire, and there’s no time to do it “right”.
Only thing I can say is, try to be happy that, even though it may not seem like it, but, you ARE working for a successful company with a bright future. Finally, somebody has turned the GA Mfg business on its ear with a good product. I know you feel it could probably be better, but, then again, take a look at what else is available on the market. Would you rather work for them? Hopefully, things will improve, but it takes time. And effort on everybody’s part, both management and employees. If necessary, and if you feel strongly about it, you may need to set up your own training methods. Like, tell management, “That’s it, we are tired of being forced to put out product that we know can be better. We are taking 1 hour out of our work day and offering each other training courses”. In the end, they’ll see the business sense of that.
I happen to work for a company now that has a very good profit sharing plan, and we happen to be very successful at the moment. It hasn’t always been this way. Once, the check was worth about a hamburger and things were looking pretty bleak :-). The last couple of the years have been great, though. But now there is more work to do than a company twice our size could get done. We just keep doin’ the best we can. When the time comes, I hope there is a plan in place to treat you all well, too.
Good luck, and thank you for your updates. I am hoping to put in a bid for a plane by April, so I hope you guys are still around in a couple of years so I can take delivery . It’ll be tight and financially a strain, but we figure you only go around once, so you might as well follow your dreams. And, heck, I figure, in a couple of years when I can take delivery, the plane will only be better. Way I look at it, the longer I have to wait, the better
Tom

I, for one, think we would all do well not to respond to this very bitter person. He obviously has an axe to grind for some unknown reason. And while we all want to hear the good and bad goings on with CD, Jeff’s drivel boarders on paranoia. MIKE#396

Cirrus has already put out a memo on this 2 weeks ago. They expect SR20 # 240 to come out in August and then they will re asses the production line. The SR22 has been slowed down due to their revisement of the while production process. Part of the reason some numbers have “jumped” is due to many folks converting from an SR20 to a 22. For example, if 20 of the people between #115 and #150 opted to buy an SR22, then there would only be 15 order to fill instead of 35 between those numbers.

Maybe ive been sounding too harsh. Things actually are looking up here and now I think that the company is going to do ok. it’s a good product and gthe company has come through a lot of tough scrapes before.

Notice that jeff #1 & #2’s email address is jmay109@hotmail.com. Turns out that jeff #3 who claims that jeff #2’s kind comments were an imposter and that the airplane is unsafe also has the exact same email address at jmay109@hotmail.com.
Clearly, jeff is not credible and should be ignored completely going forward.
Better yet jeff #1,#2,#3, please discontinue your negative posts.
