Lots of threads are floating around about golf and Migration, but I haven’t seen anything definitive. There is no “official” golf event this year, so let’s quit circumnavigating the subject and go Direct To.
The Oak Marsh course is amazing. I played there at our Migration in 2022 and am excited to tee it up again as the course was recently renovated. This round would be for Thursday, October 9.
Our COPA Cabana party starts at 6:30pm, so we need to plan to be off the course around 4:00pm to allow golfers to get back to the hotel and shower. So, I’ve booked three tee times at 11:00am, 11:10am, and 11:20am that day. For those who can do math, this means there are only 12 spots available. The 13th sign up goes on the waiting list.
The cost is $245 per golfer, which includes green fees and range balls. This is an informal event, not a tournament. You automatically win a trophy just for coming out to play
Who is definitely in and ready to actually sign up? No money is due now, but you have a hard 48 hour cancellation.
To sign up, either reply in this thread with the name(s) of golfer(s), or PM me. Fore !
The responses so far have been a bit underwhelming…
So far it’s just @dunham62 , @Peyton_Lindbloom , and me. Time for all the fence-sitters to get off the fence and sign up ! With about 500 average Migration attendees, only 2% would be 10 golfers. Where are you all hiding ?
We are 10 days away from this epic golf event, but the responses are still in the single digits. A total of 3 to be exact.
As a final enticement to get the fence-sitters to sign up, The General Aviation Law Firm has generously agreed to sponsor this event. After your round, the firm will buy you a sponsored drink of your choice at the bar next to the pro shop.
Free drinks and great golf… what are you waiting for?
This is the final post in this thread, which as of today has a lethargic 3 golfers signed up. Seriously, 500 attendees at Migration, and only 0.6% are playing? This would be an embarrassing record low for COPA.
On Monday afternoon, while sipping a Mai Tai in the beach in the Bahamas, I need to give the final count to the golf shop.
