West Valley Flying Club at PAO has maybe 4 SR22s. You could contact them and do a demo flight with an instructor. Compared to lunch that would not be cheap though.
I bought my SR22 G2 in 2010 before I got my PPL. Used Travers (I think Mike Travers). First year was high, 5700 on 250k hull value, but dropped significantly each year after that as I added hrs in type and the IFR ticket last year> Have stuck w/ Travers each year since. Now about 3k, which is where I would expect to be.
Thanks folks this is very encouraging news! I think that after I get my PPL, I will get checked out in the Cirrus SR20 at local FBO and see how I like flying the Cirrus compared to everything else I’ve flown already. Then I can make an intelligent decision.
