Has anyone looked at the Lancair Mako??

I have a lancair ESP. It is basically the same as a Mako. I have a tsio 550E 350 hp and with pressurization I fly 15-17K. I fly LOP 16.2 GPH 207 kts. The esp comes over the numbers at 85kts fully loaded and 80 kts 1-2 people. The plane is very easy to fly. Even with the turbo engine pressurization, back up O2 and A/C I still have 1100 lbs useful load. The plane holds 105 gallon.

I really love the look of the Lancair. Do you have BRS? Is the insurance cost similar to a SR22?

No I don’t have the cute. Another lancair pilot I know does. The insurance for my plane IR pilot is 5000 a year full coverage. I use BWI. A pressurized cabin for me is the ultimate. I fly 15-17k and I fly mostly in the southeast. At those altitudes I usually get direct because there is very little traffic. I have a Garmin G900X panel (G1000) . Lancair also has a program that they get a ESP and totally remanufacture the plane for around 450k. The ESP is all carbon fiber with dual carbon wing spares. These planes are very strong crafts.

Agree with the diagnosis, but not sure flying from the right seat addresses it; it still leaves you doing switchology with your left hand.

the mako can have dual control yokes left and right just like my ESP.

I’m getting 404 errors for those docs. Anyone know where they are now?

Thanks,

Wayne
