Florida Aviation Expo

Anyone interested in joining me at the Florida Aviation Expo next week?
http://www.aviation-expo.com

It’s a definite “maybe”.

Trip Taylor and I may be up at my N GA house Wed/Thu/Fri and likely returning home Fri afternoon or Sat AM (weather permitting). Stopping at Punta Gorda on the way home sounds like a plan.

We need to organize an “FCOPA” for Florida pilots and maybe have monthly get-togethers!

Dennis
When are you going?
Richard

The concensus appears to be for Sat. I suggest about 11:30, although there are several seminars before 11:30. There appears to be a "new aircraft flyby. I am not sure what that involves but I will check.

Here is a weather discussion for Sat which was obtained on Friday afternoon, re: Punta Gorda"
CDFNT ACROSS NW FLA THIS AFTERNOON WILL MOVE TO CENTRAL FLA LATE TONIGHT AND THROUGH SOUTH FLA SATURDAY. AS INDICATED IN THE PAST FORECAST PACKAGES…MOST OF THE ENERGY ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM WILL MOVE NEWD WELL NORTH OF S. FL. TO THE POINT THAT CHANCE FOR PRECIP WITH THIS SYSTEM LOOK VERY SLIM. WILL STILL MENTION PRECIP BUT MAINLY AFTER MIDNIGHT AND ONLY A SLIGHT CHANCE…CHANCE FOR NRN INTERIOR AND WEST COAST. TEMPERATURE WISE WILL GO CLOSER TO THE MET…ALTHOUGH MAV DOES’NT DIFFER MUCH BUT SEEMS TO BE ON COLD SIDE. MIN TEMPS SUN MORNING SHOULD RANGE FROM RIGHT AROUND 40 NRN INTERIOR TO LOWER 50S SE COAST. ALTHOUGH A WINDCHILL ADVISORY IS NOT ANTICIPATED…WIND CHILL VALUES COULD GET
AS LOW AS THE M/U 30S INTERIORS SECTIONS TO M/U 40S EASTERN METRO AREAS BEFORE SUNRISE SUNDAY MORNING. TEMPS WILL BOUNCE BACK UP TO
NORMAL VALUES BY MONDAY AS SFC FLOW RETURNS TO E/SE DIRECTION. ANOTHER FRONT WILL APPROACH S. FL WED

I like it. I even have a slogan;
Florida Cirrus Owners Pilots Assn. Give your TKS a break and join us.
Can someone design us a logo. Perhaps something with palm trees.

I’m up for that. Been thinking about it myself for some time now.

I’d be willing to help organize it if I can get someone to help and if we can get at least 5-10 pilots to join. Be a great idea for fly-ins to various airports and other get-togethers.

Anyone interested, please email me and I’ll start compiling a list

I’ll probably go on Saturday. Let me know where you’ll be and maybe we can get together…

Hey! The first and by far the worst of only 3 times I have ever picked up any ice was in south Florida on a flight from Naples to Key West.

Count the BAAM man too, if I can get away. Are you including wives?

Keep Me Posted

Norm

I vote for that famous travel agent Richard P. for president
Lets discuss it at Ocean Reef

Rich;
Probably Sat but not sure. What day is good for everybody?

Do you mean bringing or swapping? Send a picture and we’ll talk…[H]

That can’t be. We have a deal with the FAA down here. Ice is just not allowed. If it shows up, they come in blow it up north with really big fans.

At least if you’re south of Orlando.

I am planning to get there one of the days, either will work for me. LetÂ’s take a vote which day would be best, at what time and location… We can all do lunch together. If itÂ’s like the EAA fly inns we have in Mi. they only last till 1:00 but it looks like this is an all day affair.

Can we all hold hands too, and sing
"WE LOVE OUR CIRRI . . . WE REALLY DOOOO
WE LOVE OUR CIRRI, AND YOU WILL TOOOOO
IT DOESN’T MATTER THAT THE BELLY’S GOT GOO . .OO
etc., etc.

OK.

Weather permitting, Trip Taylor and I could fly in mid-day on Saturday. We’d be leaving from my N GA home.

Time and place to meet?

OK, Trip and I will do our best to be at the Bonanza area about 11:30.

Anyone else joining us. Please check in. If I can get a count tonight, I will call them tomorrow and see if we can get our own parking area.
