My SR22 G2 100% flap LED only comes on below about 86-85 KIAS. If I select 100% flaps above that speed but still below 100% flap VFE, the LED does not come on. When switching from 50% to 100% flaps start to move but they only go all the way down when the speed drops below 85KIAS. 50% lights up correctly.
So the flaps go all the way down as the load on the flap decreases.
On the ground test everything works perfectly.
Is this normal or is it a defect?
At what speed does the 100% Led come on on Your SR22?
Thanks
There are many posts regarding the flap position sensors and relays such as this one on the COPA forums,
If it is airspeed dependent it is likely your flap actuator clutch is failing, the clutch is more likely to slip as the load goes up. You may need a new actuator.
Mine started doing the exact same thing a few weeks ago. Looking like I’ll be needing a new actuator. I do a ground test today with a couple of guys holding significant pressure against the flaps and could not get them to fail, nothing close to the pressure during flight.
Changed relays?
