I’m on the wait list for my order too…my production delivery date is estimated 2nd qtr of 2025. Been having fun doing the online transition video courses that Cirrus provided. It occurred to me that I’m possibly learning things that will be outdated or irrelevant by the time my plane is born.
My current 185 is old technology and we have come to a mutual respect over the past 24 years of ownership, often through moments of pure adrenaline and a bit of terror. I’m guessing it will be the same with the Cirrus. That being said…sure hope the G6, G7 or whatever model it is continues to be built with an autopilot…did my annual flight review and IPC on Friday, I envy those with autopilots.
+1 to looking forward to January/February updates.
I didn’t get the link, my cirius rep told me someone leaked it on Facebook and showed me the PDF. It was the new colors photoshopped onto the current sales brochure. It’s nothing that exciting The only thing you would notice is they got rid of that pink color and now it’s more of a purplish color. He did not have any interior colors leaked.
How about they unveil a real solution to parts issues that are keeping our members AOG? That would mean a lot more than a few tweaks to a G6 that are now called G7.
Nah. Pee bottles and relief tubes are not going to sell more airplanes- especially not with the wife & kids demographic that Cirrus tends to like to market to. That sounds more like aftermarket mod territory.
But Cirrus Camp? Yeah, I could see that.
Backcountry edition- a turbo (for those high density altitude summer afternoons in Idaho), with STOL kit and tundra tyres!
Oshkosh edition- with a special kill switch to deactivate the yaw damper and transponder, so you can easily configure for joining the C2A formation arrival! (Note- Cirrus Aircraft does not recommend or condone formation flying. You people are crazy- but we’ll see you at the kickoff party!)
Tom, speaking of shotguns- did you ever find something you like?
As Shyam indicated, new model announcements are typically made at CX - which this next year is Feb 24, 2024.
It’s fun to speculate on upgrades/enhancements, but the reality is those who know anything definitive aren’t going to risk their jobs and/or access to Cirrus’ roadmap by sharing.
That being said, speculate away and have fun with it, no doubt some of these wish list items are likely to come true at some point in the future as natural evolutions, the big guess is what year they happen.
