I spoke with Tom B at Cirrus today about FADEC. He said that they now have in their posession a real live FADEC 550 engine (less a few parts). They are using it for fitting of the cowl and the like. Unfortunetly, it is missing a few pieces (sensors?) so they can’t actually fly it. The rest of the package is on the way. They estimate that it will take 8 or 9 months to deliver FADEC equipped planes to customers once they receive real live resellable engines from Continental. When will that be? It is suppose to be “soon”. Cirrus is excited but they will not make any promises until Continental can actually deliver a steady diet of engines.
