Wayne,

You’re asking people to sell their positions at about 177K for an “A” plane while the actual price is 188K, plus you want to move ahead in the queue.

Don’t you think you should be offering a premium to the actual base price to move up the waiting list?

Just my 2 cents. If you’re able to strike a deal, let me know, cause I’ll place the same offer then.

Good luck

Placido

Actually I am offering a premium to the holder!!

After talking to Cirrus Contracts Administration,

if you own a position in the 200’s for $168,800 (original contract price). You will Pay much more by the time your plane is delivered!! Here is why:
INFLATION CLAUSE(Read contract section 1.03) “The purchase price shall increase by an amount equal to the purchase price times the percentage increase.” Per cirrus inflation clause runs approx 3% PER YEAR. 2 YEARS WILL ADD AT LEAST 5%!

GARMIN EQUIPMENT SUBSTITUTE-Per Cirrus the price is increased by $2,500 over the old avionics supplier that went bankrupt. This is automatic.

STEC 40 AND GARMIN 437 TRANSPONDER EQUIPMENT UPGRADE. Again, according to Cirrus the majority of the recent $9,000 price increase was for the upgraded equipment–let’s estimate $6,000.

Now do the math:

Base contract $168,800

Garmin equipment add 2,500

Subtotal 171,300

add 5% inflation clause + 8,500

add Stec 40 and 437 transponder + 6,000

Adusted cost of position #200 $185,800

If you are holding mid-range position # and would be able to sell out at a price not to exceed $20,000 ($5000.00 over your initial $15,000 deposit) please e-mail me or call 918-461-8097.

OOPS! ran out of space on my reply.

So, position #2-- will really cost $185,800 if equipped same as being offered today at $188,300.

Add my $5000 to $185,800 and I will pay $190,800 for the position. Yes, It is a small premium, but lets dispell the myth that You will be able to buy your Sr 20 equipped like today’s configuration for $168,800!!!

Wayne, you are part right and part wrong. Your numbers overstate your case. First of all, we don’t have an “upgraded” price for the new equipment, but someone earlier on this board figured out that the difference in price between the old and new equipment was around $2K. That doesn’t mean Cirrus will offer it for that, but I for one won’t pay more than a few hundred for the upgraded transponder, and the autopilot is moot because I plan on a C configuration. I am figuring on very little net cost increase from this equipment “upgrade”.

Secondly, we have been told that the inflation adjustor will stop as of the contract delivery date, so in my case it will cost about a year’s worth of inflation at 3%, or about $4500. If people who have taken delivery can weigh in on how CD has handled inflation adjustment that would be great.

My revised math is that the $168,800 will actually be about $176K. However, you can’t compare this “revised price” against today’s price of $188,800 because it is physically impossible to get “today’s” plane delivered today!!! Sign a contract today and you will pay the two years of inflation adjusment also.

So, you are right that it is more than 168K, but net is that comparing apples to real apples you are not even close to offering any premium.

Good Luck!
