SR20 crash-lands in Austria

The SR20 with tail number N232AG crash-landed on Thursday near the airport Punitz/Austria. The pilot tried to land in Punitz, executed a go-around, during which a loss of engine power occurred for unknown reasons. The 72 year old pilot and his passenger sustained only minor injuries.
Due to the low altitude the BRS chute could not be deployed.

Interesting. Can’t find any more details on the incident, but have some data on the airplane.

It’s a relatively old SR20, s/n 1096, first registered in October 2000 as N188CD. It was delivered in Eelde, Netherlands on December 15th, 2000 after being re-registered as N232AG. N232AG does not show up on the COPA registry. N188CD was assigned to a Cessna Skywagon last year.

Info unverified.

Wow! For all that damage, the cabin stayed nicely intact. Great to see! Thanks for the link, cessnaowner. [:)]

Good to hear that there are only minor injuries.

I learned that every landing you can walk away from is a good landing, but I feel sad to see this plane in pieces.

I use Maxthon browser and it has a translation link from different languages to english.

Here’s the attempted translation of the german, leaves a little to be desired…

http://www.worldlingo.com/wl/translate?wl_lp=DE-EN&wl_fl=2&wl_rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fhttp%3A%2F%2Fburgenland.orf.at%2Foesterreich.orf?read=detail&channel=2&id=355661%2F&wl_url=http%3A%2F%2Fburgenland.orf.at%2Foesterreich.orf?read=detail&channel=2&id=355661&wlg_table=-3

here’s an excerpt:

“The airplane was however heavily damaged. The pilot and its Kopilotin suffered light injuries. Both were brought in the hospital Guessing. The determinations to the crash cause still are under way.”

Ko-pilotin = female Co-pilot

From the translation of the German article, I wonder if VIAGRA had anything to do with the accident?
