Sandle

There are other great advatages to the Sandel too:

  1. Stupid Sandel trick: VOR checks are now even easier–simply tell the Sandel to put NAV1 and NAV2 as the bearing pointers, and the bearings as seen by the VOR receivers are displayed on the screen for your logging pleasure (no more unslightly OBS knob twisting.) Also, you can leave the autopilot coupled to the GPS while doing this (no more pesky HDG mode every 30 days while doing the check.) This alone is well worth the thousands of extra dollars.

Dan, the Sandel IS an option in the B Package IF you have two alternators. Our B model was configured with 2 alternators from the start so the Sandel was an easy upgrade for us.

As I remember the eHSI was not a posibility in
the ‘B’ package. dan

That is correct but, in addition to the need for 2 alternators in the “B” package, the cost of the Sandel is an additional $700 over the “C” package version. The Sandel is NOT an option on the “A” package.

Yes, the reason is it costs more to install it in a B package than a C package. The HSIs are different (C is already electric). As such there you are given more of a “credit.”
