As I understand it, the counter is “lumpy” – it goes up when the FAA issues an airworthiness certif for each specific plane. These sometime come in batches, they run faster at some times of month, slower at others, etc. But the overall trend certainly is noticeable. Latest FAA N-number registration list had 114 SR20s.

I agree the update is “lumpy” but I’m not sure it has anything to do with the FAA. I believe since CD received its PC it issues its own certs. of airworthiness.
