Off-topic but worth mentioning (computer security)

Given the high proportion of people in the tech industry on this forum, and given the fact that everyone weighing in here is an Internet user, I respectfully submit a link to a recent column I did in the Industry Standard. I was quite surprised by the phenomenon I came across here – the re-appearance of an old “memory slag” problem from early computer days – and you might be too.

You go to this page:

http://www.thestandard.com/news/opinion/?tag=homepage.left.nb.g1.p4

and then click the link by my name, which says “No Thanks for the Memories”

This link may also take you directly to the column:

(You may note some typos in the next-to-last paragraph, which I’m asking them to fix now.)

I was able to access the article through the last link, thanks. A great article for someone, me, in a service business, investment management, that sends emails to clients and is supervised by the SEC. I will have to re read it and talk to my computer consultants.
