It's Ungainly to Push into a Hangar

Steve,

What winch are you using? Is it wireless remote?

Thanks

Dean

A Christmas tree remote on the winch power could save your airplane.

Dean,

Our winch system is still going strong many years later. I probably would have quit flying if I had to rely on any other method to get the plane back in the hangar. We tried a gas powered tow bar and a riding lawn mower. Given our tight quarters, both were dangerous all the time and failed completely to push the aircraft into the hangar in wet or icy conditions.

I would encourage you to either mount your winch on the floor right behind the nose wheel, or at least put in some kind of for certain stop on the cable to prevent pulling the tail through the back of the hangar should the winch fail to stop.
