Paul,
I had not turned on the “poll” feature previously, but your post inspired me to!! The feature is now turned on so that people can post polls here (see the FAQ for info). I’m cut & pasting Paul’s poll below:

Steve,
I appreciate the fact that you enabled polling on this board. But I think that your implementation is flawed. When I tried to go back and vote the second time, there was some kind of error message about IP addresses or something. Do you know when you will get this error fixed?
Paul
I grew up in New Jersey and I might point out that NO PEOPLE live in Teterboro. The town is 100% industrial and there are no private homes there. The airport is one of the oldest in the country but one of the best insulated airports from residential neighbors as anywhere.
Why they chose this place to complain about is beyond me!
Brian
It’s easy, just get a second internet connection! Or, if you dial up now, just hang up and dial again - chances are you’ll get a different IP address. [:)]

Brian,
I read an article on crime statistics that said the same thing – in the context of Teterboro having the largest ratio of police arrests per capita in the country.
The article went on to explain that this particular statistic had little meaning, since “per capita” refers to the number of RESIDENTS in the city or town (essentially none for Teterboro), but because of the airport, there is a large transient population, and the number of arrests made by the (also out-of-proportion) police force is significent.
It was an interesting article, as much for it’s emphasis on the meaninglessness of some statistics as for the factoids it contained. I’ll see if I can find it again.
Mike.
