Having trouble logging in or getting errors? (updated)

Due to some trouble and unexpected maintenance with the COPA webservers, we are currently running on a backup server. The switch has caused some people (members and registered guests) to have trouble logging in or to get error messages when attempting to access some parts of the website.

If this is happening to you, please don’t click “Forgot your password?” before you try the following:

If your web browser is Internet Explorer:

  • Quit the web browser. You must not be logged in to COPA.
  • Go to Control Panel and click through the following path:
Network and Internet / Internet Options / Delete browsing history and cookies / Browsing history [Delete] which takes you (finally) to the Delete Browsing History window.
  • Uncheck all checkboxes except check: Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, History. Be sure “Preserve Favorites” is not checked.
    Then click the “Delete” button.

If you are using another web browser - Restart your browser and navigate to a web page (not the COPA website).

Firefox:

From the Tools menu choose:

(Firefox 3.5) Clear Recent History

Time range to clear: Everything

Click to open Details

Check only the boxes for Form & Search History, Cache, Cookies, Active Logins.

Click: Clear Now.

(Firefox 3.0) Clear Private Date (3.0)

Check only the boxes for Cache, Cookies, Offline Website Data, and Authenticated Sessions.

Click: Clear Private Data Now.

Safari:

From the Safari menu choose Empty Cache

The problems mentioned are usually tied to a particular computer - consider trying your login on a different computer. If you are still having trouble after trying the above, please email webmaster@cirruspilots.org for assistance.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.
