Can anyone tell us what the final cause for the Georgia off field landing was or are we going to have to wait for the NTSB.

I talked to the pilot involved, who now has an SR22. He told me that the engine made a big hole in itself, forcing him to land in a field. He said that if he were driving an aluminum plane, it would have been substantially damaged, but the SR20 received only a bit of cosmetic damage.
At the time I spoke with him, about a month ago, he had not yet received information about why the engine went tango uniform.
