Error in POH?

Maybe this is old news, but I just noticed that on page 1-7 of the SR20 manual, it shows 2050 pounds empty weight (885 kg) while the previous page showed (b4 this updated page) 1950 kg (885 kg).

Math explains that 885 kg is the 1950 pounds as in the past (and on the page that the last update page replaced) , so it seems it is a misprint when they updated the page 1-7 to show the 100 lb gross weight increase (2900 -> 3000 lbs). They added 100 lbs to the empty weight (but not any kg).

So I’m assuming it is still 1950 lbs, generally- each plane different of course.

Mine is 2118. I think 1950 is just for marketing.

What I did not point out too well was that both pages showed the same 885 kg value, but different pound values (1950-2050) right next to the same 885 kg.

Someone did not “do the math”.

my SR20 is 1961# w/ skywatch.stormscope & 3 blade prop
which I thought was pretty good

There is an error in your POH as well…If I were you, I would insist that the W&B be remeasured under warranty. There is no way your plane weighs 1961with a 3 blade and sky watch and, I assume, 2 alternators.

I agree, 1961 lbs BEW sounds very low.

Here are a couple of threads on the issue of SR20 empty weight, including some numbers from different owners:

That’s more like it. Still pretty good though. Mine is 2148 without Skywatch

Someone did not “do the math”.

That is true in a number of places in the SR20 POH. The entire performance section is internally inconsistent.
