Danger!!!

Just my own opinion. Do your home work first.

I have been to London, Canada and have asked many questions.

Be careful

Have a great Cirrus day,

The DA40 is also more expensive, smaller and slower while having the same fuel-burn…

Their avionics are '60-style, range just 600 nm

The DA40 never exceed speed is even lower than cruise for the 22 !

(see www.avweb.com for a comparison)

And I believe the Austrian mother-company is in some financial trouble…?

So Jeff, maybe you ought to be fired at Diamond aircraft, because of misleading the public !

  1. I’ve always admired Diamond airplanes and wish the company well. It’s worth remembering that the planes are WAY smaller than the Cirrus.

  2. I respect and congratulate Mr. Feinig for using his real name.

  3. It would have been slightly more informative if he’d referred to Diamond as “we” rather than “they,” since when I was looking at the company recently he was its vice-president.

Gruezi Hr. Feinig !

Tut gut, ein bekanntes “Gesicht” hier in diesem Forum zu “sehen” - es wird Zeit, dass Diamond hier einmal Flagge zeigt !

Wie geht es sonst so ?

I am not, and never have been, the employee of any aircraft company or dealership. Nor am I ignorant of aviation, having gotten my first lisence almost 30 years ago. Based on what I see in this forum, CD has certain production problems, and owners of the SR20 have a lot to be happy with, but also some legitimate gripes.

It would seem that the SR20 really cruises at only 150 Ktas, and cannot legally carry as much as a DA40, which cruises just 3 knots slower with a larger payload on less fuel. The new DA40 avionics suite will resemble that of the SR20, except for that big screen thing.

The foregoing was on my mind when I cancelled my SR20 position and placed a deposit on a DA40. Now lets all be friends; we are all talking about cutting edge technology, plastic - but the DA40 is less expensive, consumes less fuel, and is built of Carbon Fiber. a little bit more advanced than Fiberglass.

Please excuse any fault in my use of English–I am not an educator or web professional, just a middle aged guy who never took the step of buying a metal aircraft, or a wooden boat.

Jeff,

We’ll be looking forward to your pirep on the DA40! It would be fun for you to come to an SR20/22 event so we can compare our trusty steeds. We can certainly all agree that either an SR20/22 or a DA40 blows the socks off a new Cessna 172 or Piper Archer.

I might add that some folks are probably delighted that you switched to a DA40 — not out of malice, but because you thereby moved their delivery date up a notch! (If your Cirrus position number was less than #266, I personally thank you — and can’t wait until we can share rides in each other’s plane.)

Just out of curiosity, how long ago did you place your deposit for your DA40? At that time, how long were you told it might be before your aircraft is delivered? Do you know how large their order backlog is? It would be interesting to compare these numbers to those for Cirrus.

I tried to, but alas got only a “attempt to load failed” message.

Cheers,

Actually the DA40 was my first choice, but I found a partner for with an SR20 contract for first quarter 2001. The first quarter is now August. Between the delays, the load problems, the engine problems, the Arnav problems, and the instrumentation problems, if I were not committed with a partner I would drop Cirrus and either take my chances on a DA40 or spend a little more and get a TB20.

Nor do you use your real name, so no credits to you !

Patiently waiting for one of the best, affordable planes of our time.

Good People,

Via Google, the correct web address for Tipton Airport is below. Nice web site there.

Cheers all,

Judging from the message, English is not Mr. Feinig’s mother tongue. If he was trying to hide his affiliation with DA, he was remarkably ineffective, for he used his company email address.

Danger is the bondo wagon cirrus. You haven’t looked inside one of these yet have you? The diamond is a much better aircraft and the company has finacial support much greater. Not broke and mis managed like cirrus.Part 23 certified. Never hurts to look.

Do you have anything better to do with your unemployment? Are you totally deranged? Get a life dude, it’s dangerous to come to conclusions without all of the facts! People with money are likely to find you and file…You are clearly clueless, what life must be like to live in your own vacuum. Get real! Dip! Have you flown a DA product? Are you a pilot? do you have any idea what your talking about? Do you realize how stupid you sound? Have you always been hopelessly spaced out and dangerously unaware? Hope you have lots of money for…what’s coming next!
