I’m looking for a pilot looking to build time in Philadelphia area, KPNE. I have an almost new sr22. I haven’t been flying for 6 months and I’d like someone to fly with me back and forth to KJPX from KPNE. not looking for an instructor or a professional pilot. must be instrument certified. call or email. You probably need to find someone with a CPL as well, unless they are either:
- not going to log flight hours or
- are going to split the expenses with you.
They would otherwise be in violation of FAR 61.113(a) as the FAA has been very consistent in considering the logging of flight time as compensation if
the pilot does not have to pay the costs of operating the aircraft.

I don’t quite understand that request. If you are current and proficient in that plane, you don’t need anybody. If you are not, you should fly with a CFI, somebody current and proficient in flying from the right seat, making sure you don’t mess up.
Otherwise this should be a request for a companion because you are bored. But not having flown for 6 months, you really should want a CFI. I’d fly with one after not flying Cirrus half that time, some skills are perishable. Didn’t happen in the Cirrus but in the R44, although my TR was active. But I’d done fun flights in a Cabri G2 only. So CFI it wax in the R44 before flying solo.
Robert, I disagree. Having a right seater is a safety upgrade even if not a cfi. Like safe return, but human. I applaud the OP for asking.
I also agree that commercial license is required.
Well Jeff, I see that differently. A non CFI has no experience in flying from the right, in quickly reacting on mistakes made, etc. This is just nourishing overestimation and overconfidence of pilots with bad judgement of their skills. Complacency kills.
