ARNAV engine monitoring - status

This will be of interest to Steve Lin (Steve’s Post) and others who have asked about the status of the test installation of the engine monitoring package.

I asked ARNAV, and got an email a few minutes ago indicating that…

1] The prototype engine monitoring retrofit kit was successfully installed in an SR20 last week.

2] They hope to have details available at Sun 'n Fun.

3] They believe that Cirrus will be announcing its availability, pricing and procedures for coordinating the installation.

4] I should check back with them after Sun 'n Fun for status of “other upgrades to the ICDS”.

  • Mike.

2] They hope to have details available at Sun 'n Fun.

Yeah? Which Sun 'n Fun. 2004 or 2005?

That SR20 is domiciled @ wings aloft: a lease-back, I think. If you’re interested in the actual performance of the ARNAV Eng. Monitoring or any of its attributes, give 'em a call.

Yeah? If they don’t say something at Sun 'n Fun, 2001, I’ll buy you a beer. Heck, I’ll buy you a bunch. You do the same for me if they DO have info. That way, no matter what happens, we both win.

PS - I’ll be there on Tuesday. I like Sam Adams.

I have no doubt that they will say or publish something but keep in mind that this will be the FOURTH Sun’n’Fun in a row where Arnav will have a IDCS2000 with engine management displayed booth. It’s all talk until you can order it.

btw, I went through a similar issue in thinking about upgrading a King KLN89 GPS to a KLN94. King showed me a working model a full year before my local avionics shop could even order one.
