ALASKA

A friend and I are hoping to take a flight to Alaska (from Seattle) and I was wondering if anyone out there has some suggestions for us as far as where to go and what to see and do. We have no particular destination in mind, however I imagine we would not want to go much farther than the Southern interior. I’ve found and read a lot of the safety info and I’ve read Del Fadden’s excellent article about his trip, but I’m still not sure what I want to do for our flight. Any suggestions, tips, or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -Dave

Dave,

I’d recommend a stop at http://www.airnav.com/airport/PATKTalkeetna (PATK). There are several air tour operators there who can take you on a fantastic flight around Denali, and even (if you’re there before it gets too warm) do a ski landing on the glacier.

Drop in at Talkeetna Air Taxi and ask for my pilot friend Elwood Schapansky!

Cheers,
Roger
