Service Centers

Has anyone seen a list of factory authorized service centers? If so, what is available in the southeast U.S.?

A new one coming on stream right now will be Lakeside, at KGMU (Greenville, SC). Not for avionics or composite ariframe work though.

Believe the attached list is pretty current.

For what it is worth, the sales reps seem to be saying “use your own mechanic” for most of the routine stuff. The service centers are probably only required for composite airframe or warranty work.

They’ve been adding them pretty rapidly, so a

3+ month old list will be incomplete.

The Santa Fe Jet Center at SAF was just added (bless their hearts.)

Unlike the average Cessna service center, which has to maintain a parts inventory and a bunch of other stuff, Cirrus tries to make it as painless (and inexpensive) as they can to the maintenance guys, as an incentive (or at least a lack of disincentive.) Basically the shop pays to send somebody to Duluth for training and lose his income for however long that takes, and in return they will hopefully get a leg up when these hundreds of Cirri start needing annuals and warranty work.

on this topic I have to give Cirrus and Mike Bush a D- for a grade. We have 3 sr20’s here in San Joseon the ground and our nearest center is a hour and a half drive home after you drop the plane.

I hear little violins playing–my service center

was a 10 hour drive home until they put the Santa Fe Jet Center online.

Heck, Walt flew his plane back to Duluth for his annual…

But seriously, I know that they looked at a bunch of places directly in the Bay area, at least when they were first establishing the service centers, and for whatever reason, the places there didn’t pass muster, or weren’t interested, or both. As this is a continuously evolving process, I wouldn’t despair.

A Californian complaining about a 1 1/2 hour drive?

Sorry to disagree but Mike Busch gets an A+ in my book for the service centers he has selected

Just to gloat a little, my service center, Crown Air in San Diego is 100yds from my hangar at MYF.

No argument there, the service centers they have on line are great! We have the largest Cirrus population other than the factory so you can understand our frustration! Flame shields up…Ed
