Anyone coming from or thru the Pittsburgh area
that would like some company on the way to
Ocean City please e-mail me. It’s to far to drive
and my plan is still a dream.

Hello All ECCL (East Coast Cirrus Lovers),
Brand made a good point. Since alot of us are contract holders and not yet fortunate Cirrus owners, we should get a way to identify each other. If you are coming, please e-mail me(ferrari@twcny.rr.com) with your name, plane type and tail number. I will compile a list and e-mail it back to everyone.See you all May 12 in Ocean City.
What time works for everyone? 10? 11?I will contact Bruce Gunter and see if I can talk him into bring up an SR22 for some demo flights.

Hello Mike,
We just can’t have a East Coast Cirrus Fly-In (ECCFI) without you. Here are your choices… 1. Bring the family commitment to the hangar 2. Always remember the pilot in command is in charge. 3. Darling, you are so nice for allowing me to go to the airport to be with the boys for the first ever ECCFI. Oh no: Did you forget you told me that… 4. How about using your survillance sys in the hangar and taping a break-in, run that tape on the 12th. I just had a better idea, let’s cancel the 12th it is going to rain (tears from Mike) Cheers,

All,
It looks like May 12th has won by a landslide; unfortunately for me, I have a family commitment that day (previously forgotten, but my wife reminded me…); so I won’t be able to attend.
Does anyone know of a way to “call in sick” to a family affair, and then still go flying?
- Mike.

Woor,
Thanks for all the great ideas. Unfortunately, I dare not try any of them, without risking the amputation of parts of me that are on my M.E.L; so I’d better pass.
I hope that the weather is beautiful on the 12th. In case it DOES rain, though, how about a rain-date of the next day, Sunday 13th? That is one date I can manage with no problem.
The following weekend is my wedding anniversary, and then I’ll be leaving for Australia and New Zealand for a few weeks.
Sunday, 4/13 at either location is
fine with me whether or not it
rains 4/12.

At the risk of confusing everyone, may I propose we move the fly-in to the 13th? I am hoping that most everyone who was free on the 12th would still be free on the 13th. And it would be a shame for Mike (who has helped all SR2x drivers in his roles as father of the poor-man’s CVR and Lightspeed battery eliminator and winner of ‘most creative use of a toilet rug’ award) to not be able to make the fly-in.

Sounds like a great idea to me.
See you on the 13th.

May 13 works for me as a rain date also. I can contact the others that have e-mailed me and ask them about the 13th.
Have we decided on Ocean City, NJ vs. Gaithersburg, MD?

Steve
Steve, and all who are willing to move the date:
Thanks a million; I really appreciate the thought. However, it would be a crying shame to miss a gorgeous day on Saturday and be rained out on Sunday (could happen); and Sunday IS Mother’s Day… so please don’t rearrange this on account of just one person. If I do manage to attend (by definition, Sunday), my vote is for Ocean City, although I’ll happily go to Gaithersburg if that’s where it winds up being.
Now… this is getting confusing enough without me; a Forum like this makes for messy democracy. I hereby nominate Jeff (SR22 #228) as official coordinator and final-say-so-er of the 1st Official ECCFI.
Let’s hear it for JEFF!

Hello All,
Thank you Mike for the nomination, and I’ll try to coordinate this effort!
Everyone seemed to be happy with the original date and place, so here it is:
THE FIRST ECCFI:
Date: Saturday, May 12
Rain Date: Sunday, May 13
Place: Ocean City, NY (26N)
Time: 11:00 am
Where to meet: Airport Diner (on field)
Other: The airport is only a few blocks from the beach, and about 15 miles from Atlantic City. Those wishing to stay overnight can call the Biscayne Suites Hotel in Ocean City at 800-452-1003, and WE CAN MAKE IT A 2 DAY EVENT (Hopefully you can make it Sunday Mike!). Anyone for a night out in Atlantic City?
Please e-mail me your name, plane type and tail number to ferrari@twcny.rr.com and I will compile a list of attendees to e-mail back to everyone.
I have contacted Bruce Gunter and he is going to try to get an SR22 demo there.
Looking forward to meeting everyone at the fly-in,
Jeff
