This looks like it for me. KPLB for customs and visit a friend then on to 5Y1 for fuel and maybe Mackinac for lunch or overnight
How many miles is that, Peter?
Craig
1122 nm The way I have it mapped out. I may stop to visit some other friends depending on wx and timing.
Peter
yours looks like a fun trip.
Mike,
Unfortunately, you won’t see me there. No way I would buy a Vision Jet, but I think you know that. Last Migration I went to was in 2005. I sold the Cirrus about 3 months later and bought a TBM. I should have went when it was in Vegas. Oh well, I will catch it next time it is out west and easy. No good reason to ever go to Duluth. [:P]
From Memphis, I’m flying IFR: “I Follow Rivers”
I figure I’ll just follow the Mississippi up to Minneapolis, then start looking for the gigantic lake. Duluth’s at the end of the gigantic lake, right?
Seriously–I’ve flown to Aviation Resources HQ a couple of times (KUBE, Cumberland, WI), and I get “direct” just after takeoff from KMEM. I’ve done that trip without stopping, but I think for Duluth I’ll probably stop at KDBQ (Dubuque) or KLSE (La Crosse). Both towns on the Mississippi. KUBE’s just under four hours, and that’s about my limit for one leg.
I also like landing with fuel still in the tanks.
Looking forward to it. Haven’t landed in MN yet. (Or Iowa!).
And it is a lot easier on the paint too…
…and add about 25 miles to that for our flight out of DSM and it’s an easy one for us as well!
I think we should all stop at KUBE.
PRE-PARTY AT BARKERS PLACE! [6][;)]
I’m in!
Ok
Thursday
No good reason to ever go to Duluth
Joe,
Sure there is! Many of us will be there, and would like to see you and socialize.
I for one, enjoy your posts, and would enjoy sitting across the table and buying you a libation of your choice.
Regards

Ok. One good reason. [;)]. The problem is I only get so many kitchen passes per year and I’m already at my max. Osh, CJP convention, etc. Tough to talk her into going to an airplane convention for a plane that I haven’t owned in over a decade! [:O]
Originally I was kidding around but let’s see if we get some interest. I think Roger is teaching a class in Duluth on Thursday so I’m pretty sure he can’t make it. Anyone else want to stop for some cheap gas and give Jim a hard time on the way to M14?
Bob, IFR = I Follow Rivers! Love it!! [:D]

I could do weds.
Yes, Wednesday would be better. I’ll be driving up on Thursday and setting up…
That might work. I’m not sure I can get away a day early but I’ll check on it.
Jim, you should organize a work detail for the cabin or the new hangar!
