Ipad iOS 26

Is anybody else having issues with iOS 26 on the forums? I am seeing two issues:

  1. Often (but not always), the text cursor appears below the line of active typing. See below. If I start typing, the text will appear right after the word “event”. If I use the delete key, it will start deleting the word “event”.

  2. When I highlight text, I typically get the iPad text menu overlaying the forum menu. See below. My work around is to have to rotate the iPad 90 degrees, tap the forum menu item such as copy quote, and then rotate iPad back to my preferred (landscape) orientation.

Neither of these two issues occurred before I “upgraded” :sob: to iOS 26. Please don’t tell me how you never upgrade until later, when kinks have worked themselves out. I know better, but I did it anyways, so here I sit, being the guy who gets to point out the kinks!

Hi Mark, yes, it’s been a common complaint. It appears to happen on the app and web.

What are some examples of issues on native apps and the native app names. As a beta developer it would be helpful to know.

See the same issues on iPhone. Exiting and restarting Chrome (I use the web interface) fixes the cursor problem. Until the next time.

Safari freezes up all the time. I get stuck in settings camera is slow, when i take a photo and want to text it right away sometimes i get an error “unlabeled to load photo”.. the most annoying is when a call comes in and i want to talk on speaker phone i have to hit speaker like 5 times. Everytime i hit it, it goes to speaker then reverts right back to the phone…. After 5-6 attemps it sticks. The list goes on.

Ditto, on the iPhone and iPad with ios26. Not sure what Apple is trying to do with this Liquid Glass thingy. It is nothing special UI wise and a general pain to use otherwise

For you people who like your personal privacy.

I recently upgraded to IOS26 on my iPad Pro Gen 2. Not impressed at all. The device repsonds slowly and getting apps to open and close is cumbersome.

Not sure if it was the age of my device or the IOS. Hoping the iPad Gen 5 releases this week. The Apple Employee shared that IOS 26 definitely needs some improvements.

Confirmation I should wait. I have a iPad Pro 4. I am sure it would be affected too.

I have an iPad Air that’s several years old, and iOS 26 works fine.

I want to be Roger.

Everybody wants to be Roger.

Yes.

And other than I too want to always be Roger, I am also wanting to currently to be Dave, able to gloat at us lowly iPeople fumbling around with iOS26.
