I’m considering an SR22T as my next aircraft. Looking at G5s and G6s. Of course concerned about the G1000 lock-in and was curious if there were any updates on an upgrade path… saving a few bucks on a G5 to upgrade later might be interesting. Thanks in advance!

You may be aware of this by now, but Garmin is working on completing an STC to upgrade the Perspective avionics to Perspective+ which even includes a couple extras the existing G6 Perspective+ doesn’t have. If you go to Garmin’s website, there is a marketing memo laying it all out.
