Thanks Denis

Mike,

Do you have handy a pic of the RS232 engine monitoring connector?

Thanks

Steve

Denis,
GPSS (GPS Steering) is an additional layer of automation. With GPSS, the GPS sends steering commands directly to the autopilot. Without GPSS, the GPS sends its signals to the CDI or HSI, and the autopilot takes its cue from the CDI or HSI. For the full story, take a look at http://www.s-tec.com/gpss.htmlhttp://www.s-tec.com/gpss.html.

Denis,

There’s been quite a bit of discussion about it recently. Start with http://forum.sr20.org/cgi-bin/agnes?Sr20Agnes+Sr20AgnesHTMLArticle+1878.1.1.1.1 Steve Lin’s response to the same question last Friday; search the board for GPSS for more. If you email me, I’ll send you what info I have, but it’s much the same as what you’ll find on the board.

  • Mike.

Thanks guys! I have the S-tec 55X, and now I realize that I have and use GPSS… just did not what to call this feature. I should have read the S-Tec manual, but my last aircraft had an S-tec, so I just started pushing buttons. Also, the picture of the GPSS Button thru me, but now I realize that was for another model A/Pilot.

Thanks again, Denis

Steve,

Best I can do for the moment, but at least it shows the position of the DB9 female connector. I’ll try to take a better pic next time I’m at the hangar.

I got to the hangar. This is probably a closer-up shot than I would have wanted to see…

Wow it looks so much different from every other DB9 connector I’ve seen.

Just kidding; thanks for the pix - especially the one showing the location of the connector!
