I haven’t heard the latest changes (if any) but I personally support AOPA’s stance that pilots should NOT complain. A loud outcry could have counterproductive effects on our lawmakers and their perceptions of GA pilots and sircraft. I think the businesses (FOB’s, Flights schools and manufacturers) and groups like AOPA will speak for us all.

Just my $0.02, YMMV

The 25-mile zones around DCA and JFK are the main remainly no-fly areas in the country. An interesting story for the WashPost today about the effects:

Also one on the ever-more-tightly closed National airport.

Tom,

The grounding decision has been made by the Department of Defense and the National Security Council — not the FAA or the legislative branch. I strongly agree with Marty that we all need to sit tight and let AOPA and EAA work on our behalf, as they have requested.

For other matters, you can find the phone numbers for your representative and senators in the Government section of your telephone book.

Cheers,

Roger

I agree with Marty/AOPA

How do you think your flight instructor likes what is going on? How do you think the FBO is enjoying not selling fuel? How do you think the guy that deliver fuel to your FBO likes what is going on.

We don’t.

Remember Safety first…

We have been a free country and we have enjoyed things that most other countries only dreammed about.

We must endure the pain until we get our act together and have a handle on the bad guys.

The situation is very serious, I find that most people are still busy with everyday life and don’t see the big and real picture. Support your local governament and spend your efforts and energy to help. All these safety restrictions are there for a reason, I agree some could be relaxed, but this is a big issue and all our individual points can’t be taken care of right now because there are over 2 million different issues. So if you were in there position you would put out one thing at the time. I rather disrupt my near future to be able to have a (continued) great future ahead, then only think of my immediate needs (needs that we all can do without) and end up not having any future because the terrorist have won the battle because we were so fullish to want to have our cake and eat it too right now, just like spoiled little kids.

If you had seen close up what a small group (5) people did to hundreds of people in the most important building on earth, yes, in the mother Earth as we know, the Pentagon holds the world power.

Please keep an eye out, and let’s help each other and support our freedon not complain of a little disconfort. If you really think that your rights have been violated, let me let you speak with someone that just lost their loved one on 9/11/01

God Bless America
