I seem to remember reading something a long time ago about Cirrus working on some kind of electronic (i.e. not boots or weeping wing) anti-icing device? Does anybody know if that’s true or if I’m imagining things?
And more importantly any clues if it will ever be offered on the SR20/22? Or for that matter, whether any de-icing equipment will be offered?

The February 1998 issue of Aviation Consumer has an article on de-icing that says that Cirrus and Thermion Systems are working together under a NASA grant to explore electrical de-icing. I haven’t heard anything since then.
