I’m trying to figure out whether the compression figures of a second hand SR22 G3T ( 2007) cylinders are actually within reasonable range.
Does anyone know what acceptable compression figures are on the Continental engine IO550N ?
Thanks
My understanding is that the compression figures are not that important, it’s only a reason for action if one approaches the orifice value. The “needs to be above 60 of 80 psi” rule was done away with. If you want to look at something it’s maybe more the development over time.
The thing about compression numbers is that if they’re “good” (60-80), thats a good thing, but if they’re low (30-50), you don’t know if they’re good or bad.
