Cirrus SR20 Performance Question

2006, SR22-G2, normally aspirated: 13.5-14 gph between 6000 and 10,000 feet result in 165-170 KTAS.

Thanks for that picture of cruise flight. The numbers look great, (with the exception of the rpm which seems high and I assume pretty noisy). I guess it is something that you get accustomed to. Were you lean of peak (65%) in that cruise configuration in the photo?

Is the prop rpm automatically set by the power you set with the throttle? WOT? What cruise configuration would result in an rpm of say 2400. I’m used to constant speed props (Bonanza) and typically cruised a 2400/2350 lean of peak. I’m assuming that you have no control over rpm in a SR20. Is a SR22 different with a manual prop control?

I wonder why Cirrus designed the prop system this way.

I really appreciate you helping me know what to expect with a switch to a Cirrus. I’m 78 years old going on 79 and no longer insurable in retract gear aircraft even though I have hundreds of Bonanza hours.
