Someone mentioned a possible weight savings and increase in gross weight with a change in the seat cushion. Does anyone know the details of this change?
Specifically, I am looking to lower the seat a bit and wondered if the change would have an effect on seat height. I am 6’ 4" and it seems mother nature stacked most of my height above the waist. I sit high in the seat and right now, my headset touches the top of the canopy.
Any ideas?
I understand that we shrink as we age so maybe by the time I actually receive the bird this will be a non-issue.

Fear not Mr. Richards … I, too, am 6’4" and also more of my height above the waist. The good news is that the seats have a three position recline function. I use the second notch and have no problem. Although I will confess I still wish the seat would be lower, but we are the exception to the average pilot (in size). I think you will like the seats.
I doubt Cirrus can do much to remove some of the cushion given the padding has to be there for “crash worthiness”.
I will make one other comment and that is the seats are firm but comfortable. You can take a long ride and not feel overly tired at the other end. Cirrus did a good job in the ergonomics area.

I used to be very close to 6’5" but age has taken its toll in more ways than height. Good luck.

Twenty five years ago, when finishing grad school, I was 6’2". Today = 6’1". At this rate I will disappear near the end of the next millennium.
When anyone talks about the danger of aviation, you can mention horses. My dad has lost almost 3" of height through many decades of horse riding, with all that pile-driver action on the spine.
