June 1 Cirrus Design today announced that it delivered seven SR20 aircraft in May and 37 since the first delivery last summer. The Duluth, Minnesota, company built 15 aircraft in the first quarter and six each in March and April. The goal for June is nine with the eventual goal of one delivery a day. The SR20 is a four-place composite aircraft with a cruise speed of about 160 knots, and it is the first aircraft certified from the factory with a built-in parachute designed to safely lower the aircraft to the ground in the event of a loss of control in flight.
