Tripping Alt 1

I have a new engine and my Alt 1 is tripping and won’t reset even after engine is shut down.
Ideas?

Welcome to COPA! As Tom says, not many members monitor the guest section regularly so it might take a bit before you get an answer. Be patient!

Just for clarification and to help people answer your question quicker:

  1. What year?
  2. SR20 or 22?
  3. what avionics?
  4. New engine for continental or rebuilt?
  5. how many hours before the Alt 1 started tripping?

My un-educated knee jerk reaction would be to take the cowling off and check the connections on the Alternator.
