I was told by a test pilot that the more difficult it is to spin a plane, the more difficult it is to recover form the spin. Therefore if the Cirrus is difficult to spin it may be more difficult to recover.

I doubt that that is universally true. There are many variables that affect how difficult it is to spin a plane, and while some of them (e.g. a lack of rudder authority) might also make it more difficult to recover, others would both impair spin entry and also improve the recovery characteristics (e.g. a large vertical stabilizer).
