My local FBO offered to repaint my nose gear fairing, because they had scratched it up.
Upon getting the very high price of the decals, they suggested painting on the stripes. Their contention was that the paint would make future (hope none) scratches would be less sever without the decals. Makes sense is that they’re right, especially because painted stripes would be easier to touch up that the damaged decals.
For what it’s worth, it looks really terrific.
