Need FBO coastal VA or NC

I’m off to a one week instrument training program with Doug Carmody at Beaufort, SC from (N14) South Jersey. Does anyone recommend a good daytime FBO (fuel, rest stop) about half way (Tar River vic.)?

Ted:

Rocky Mount North Carolina is just south of Tar River VOR. It is a good airport with a nice long runway as commuters fly out of there. There is weather reporting on the field and would be a good half way point for you.

Ted, I am based at Hampton Roads airport(PVG). It has two perpendicular runways both 4000+ ft, a nice FBO with weather planning and a decent little snack bar. The 100LL is $2.05 self-serve. PVG is about 15nm SW of Norfolk. Hope you have a safe trip. John

Ted,

KFCI…Chesterfield County in va. is N. of Rocky Mount. From there it is a nice flight east to NJ. I am based out of KFCI with my 20. If you would rather stay along the coast…Stop at Hampton Roads in va.
