News from Garmin: The GDL 49 datalink system is scheduled to be available for $3495 before the end of 2001. The GDL 49 is a Remote Unit and uses a VHF Antenna to access the ORBCOMM System.
It offers Request/Reply features, interfaces with 400/500 series Garmin boxes and offers Text Metar, TAF, Color NEXRAD Images, and a “unique” Time Lapse capability
